Description. In the summer ofElsie Reford began transforming her fishing camp on the Metis River into a garden. Located miles north-east of Quebec City, at º N. latitude, the gardens she created over the next thirty years were the northernmost in the eastern half of North America.
In a follow-up to The Reford Gardens – Elsie’s Paradise (), the author continues the story of the magnificent gardens in Grand-Métis, Québec, created nearly a century ago by his great-grandmother, Elsie Reford. He highlights a selection of her favorite plants from among the hundreds she collected and cultivated and which she mentioned frequently in her garden diaries and other writings.
